Just give it a try with your version.
Create a "Long Free Text" question and save it with the questioncode "qcemail"
Enter {qcemail} in the emailfield in the settings and give it a try.
If that works you might want to invest some time in ensuring the people entering a correct emailaddress (e.g. using two text questions and enforce people to enter email twice to compare for mistypes).
